Parkers Present for BA Dreamliner’s Flying Visit
On Thursday 8th August 2013, the new British Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner touched down at Newcastle Airport for the first time on a specially arranged showcase event. Parkers Managing Director, Brian Rudd attended the invitation only exclusive glimpse of this innovation masterpiece at firsthand.
The Boeing 737 Dreamliner aircraft can carry 214 passengers and features a fuselage specifically made from lighter metals such as Carbon Fibres. The aircraft is more fuel efficient than it’s predecessor burning up to 20% less fuel.
Onboard the aircraft the cabin is pressurised at a lower altitude and this helps to reduce jet lag, which will benefit those passengers travelling on the aircraft’s launch route between London Heathrow and Toronto due to commence later this month.
Speaking after the aircraft’s arrival in Newcastle, Richard Tams, British Airways’ head of UK & Ireland sales and marketing said: “We’re very excited to have flown our new Boeing 787 Dreamliner into Newcastle International Airport, which hundreds of thousands of our customers use every year to transfer onto international flights at Heathrow”.
